IBM CENTRE of EXCELLENCE
The most popular and trusted brands of IT industry IBM, viagra buy medications India has collaborated with H.R. Group of Institutions in the form of IBM Software Centre of Excellence. This Centre was inaugurated on 5th of December, drug 2012 at 10:15 AM at HRIT campus, Meerut Road, Ghaziabad.
The mission of IBM Center of Excellence is to create generations of IT innovators and to prepare Indian IT industry to face future challenges. It will train students of HRGI on DB2, RAD technologies etc and guide them in live industry projects through faculty enabled by IBM. The students of HRIT will also get exclusive opportunity to work on IBM’s software and participate in ‘The Great Mind Challenge Program’. Students from this centre will get a special recognition from IBM- ‘Blue Scholar Certificate’.
This Centre of Excellence will aim at improvement in the quality of IT education, enhance employability/placement of students thus placing the institution in a leadership position.
IBM Software Centre of Excellence is given only after rigorous evaluation of infrastructure, students and faculties of the group.
A panel discussion on ‘Meeting the industry demand by Academia’ was also organized on this occasion. A team of experts from the industry and the academia came together to deliberate on the topic. The experts included Mr. Saurabh Misra - Managing Director - S Quotient Analyzers Pvt. Ltd., Mr. K.K. Dubey - Sr. Manager - UNICHEM Laboratories Ltd, Mr. Prashant Verma - Manager - Denso India Ltd, Mr. Harpal Singh - General Manager, Corporate Affairs - Reliance Industries Ltd. and Mrs. MalathiSrinivasan - Country Lead - Academic Initative (IBM) – Moderator and Prof. V.K. Jain,DirectorGeneral,HRGI,Ghaziabad. The event was attended by faculty members and students from various colleges in NCR.
Critical issues around skills gap and the need for greater alignment with industry and business requirements were discussed. It was felt that there is definite scope for better alignment between academia and industry. With this view in mind it was suggested that practical training to the engineering college students be provided by industry experts. Through this panel discussion, HRGI would like to spread the message among the academic circles so that the ideas generated are taken forwarded and implemented.
